Lexmark X1270

I got stuck with a Lexmark X1270 after I realized it wasn't Win x64 compatible (Don't ask, it wasn't for me :D ) The customer (my Aunt) ended up with an x3150, and I was stuck with this one.

Anyway, I just recently got this printer working with linux. I'm using the Z600 driver, and it works pretty well. Unfortunately, I still need scanning and copying. This model has software-only copying.

Any attempts to search for this psc on google gives me no help, only the idea that I may not be able to ever get it working :(

Any help/ideas welcome,
poly-p man

Hi !

Well, I own a Lexmark X1150 (and I'll never own a Lexmark again ;)). I followed some howtos, got it to work with the z600 driver (and the first time I did it, there were no ebuild for it, it's much simpler now :))... but I never heard of a Lexmark all-in-one with working scanning... :(

I may enjoy too if somebody has any info ;)

It also doesn't help that the thing uses ink faster than an SUV. I'm thinking of getting a ~$500 HP Laserjet color PSC. Unfortunately, that's $500 :(

I need a "Prius" that works in linux :)

The x1100 series at least mostly works with the SANE x1100 backend. Mine doesn't work, unfortunately, because mine doesn't have a litlle mark on the side to calibrate "zero"
