|

This are 2 livecds (32 and 64bit versions available) which can be used as a regular livecd like knoppix only faster, and have support for audio/video capturing which should work with most v4l cards, also there is support for digital video capturing with kino, video editing with avidemux2, nvidia-driver included, and last but not least reiser4 support.
UPDATE:
LuckyLive 32bit is relseased!.
It supports automounting of partitions, uses captive-ntfs, for read-write mounting of NTFS partitions.
New and Improved hardware auto-detection tools, now NVIDIA-cards use the official NVIDIA driver, and other cards should work with no problems.
Packages for 32.bit included:
udev 079
openoffice-bin-2.0.1
NVIDIA driver 1.0.8178
xfsprogs-2.7.3
Mplayer 1.0.7
Kino 0.76
xdtv 2.20
glibc-2.3.6-r2 (nxty overlay)
gcc-4.0.2
amarok 1.3.7
kde-3.5
k3b 0.12.10
reiser4progs 1.0.5
kernel nitro 2.6.15-r3
And LOTS of other packages...
.
Lucky Linux 64 is a Gentoo-based livecd with support for multimedia,
audio/video capturing and editing.
Also there is support for reiser4 filesystem, and has lots of
optimizations for amd64 processors.
Some packages Included in 64-bit:
Gimp 2.2
xfsprogs-2.7.3
Mplayer 1.0.7
Kino 0.76
xdtv 2.20
glibc-2.3.6-r2 (nxty overlay)
gcc-4.0.2
amarok 1.3.7
kde-3.5
k3b 0.12.10
reiser4progs 1.0.5
kernel nitro 2.6.14-r2
And LOTS of other packages...
It´s available on bittorrent, and on the ftp server.
hereis the link:
http://linuxtracker.org/torrents-details.php?id=1236
ftp://mudrii.ath.cx/LuckyLive64
The CD boots into KDE with user "livecd" the password for root is livecd as in:
su --login
passwd : livecd
Both cds are located at the above ftp address.

Well it is a livecd to install gentoo basically, but it has a full desktop so that you can also do some work while installing.
This cd autodetects hardware using the gentoo scripts and boots into a Kde 3.5 desktop.
Right now it has support for Raid, serial ata drives tv-capture cards dvd burning.
I tried to give it as much hardware support as possible, it works very fast at compiling packages, mostly thanks to the enhanced glibc.
I also am thinking about turning it into a knoppix-style livecd, with an installer to disk, but right now the installer is not ready yet.
A 32-bit version is coming, I´m compiling one right now, so if you have any requests I´d be glad to hear them. _________________ Lucky Livecd 32 and 64 bit versions (reiser4 suppport)

Looks like a great project - but it says torrent doesn't exist
Also, to make it installable, you could *try* to use the GLI and modify it a bit, or you can download lxnay's installer, From the mirror... http://lxnay.no-ip.org/gentoo/gli/latest-rr4-gli.tar.bz2 - Also, I'm going to try and help phaeron (phaeronix.net) with his future releases, He sent me his installer to have a look, its a simple bash/zenity script, but it works if the installer is not on his site, and you are really interested, I would send it to you.
It wont be too hard to write a script you need formatting/mounting of hard drives, cp /* /mnt/gentoo, and other odds and ends like rc-update, grub configuration, etc.
Though I run an amd64, I'd also like to see a 32-bit version _________________ IRC!: #zen-sources on irc.rizon.net

Hi Cheater, I´ve uploaded the file to an ftp server courtesy of mudrii, this is the address.
ftp://mudrii.ath.cx/LuckyLive64/
Check the parent post, i´ve fixed the link for the torrent.
And, I am really interested in the installer, and right now am doing a 32bit version of this cd. _________________ Lucky Livecd 32 and 64 bit versions (reiser4 suppport)

Just one question ...... does it have the ULI M526x Controller enabled as a module or bultin (from the Tulip driver) ? If this is not enabled .... it's useless to me because my NIC won't work. |

It´s enabled on the second beta, as a module.

Yes, it does have dmraid support, you can use raidtools or mdadm | that's not dmraid support. That's linux software raid support. dmraid is the BIOS software raid e.g. nvraid. This support is provided by the device mapper. |
