I can't change the AGP speed in the bios, it won't let me, its grayed out. So its set to 8X which ofcourse isn't supported in the 2.4 kernel series, I tried compiling 2.5.73 but it doesn't mount root and panics. I upgraded the bios to the latest stable and it still doesn't work. It use to be ungrayed when I first installed the board, but I had to upgrade for it to detect the CPU correctly.
