Running v.1.3b and KDE 3.0.1 with everything going great. So I downloaded my favorite frivolous program (Setiathome) and installed it to start automatically at startup by adding an appropriate line in /etc/conf.d/local.start. Then I rebooted to test it. After the kernel loaded and everything else that's supposed to start up had done so, up popped Setiathome. Only instead of quietly running in the background, it's running in the foreground and I cannot get past it even to log in and stop it.

I imagine there is a way around it using the ISO-image install cd, and if one of you wiser folk out there could rough out the process for me, I will be tremendously grateful!

Well, Delta, you've bailed me out again! Next time I run into you down at the tavern, I'll buy you a cold one. Deal?

OK, OK, my fault for getting OT in the first place, but let's steer this beast back on topic...
