ok, i have a geforce 3 and i want to get the frame buffer working. I know it would work with the nvidia fb option, but i run into the problem found here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=545&highlight=nvidia+framebuffer
i tried enabling VESA fb support in the kernel, but no /dev/fb0 is setup
what am i missing? |

enable support for frame buffer then i compile in nvidia riva support....vesa vga graphics console....advanced low level driver options.....and finally select compiled-in fonts
also in grub add a vga= option...i choose vga=788 but you can play with it depending on your screen size and preferance. |
