Hi, my kernel is based vanilla-sources and I decided to try gentoo-sources too in my new Gentoo1.3b
After boot I get a black screen ( on my new kernel )
Any clue? _________________ All for one and one for All

Did you enable framebuffer support? That could cause that problem depending on your hardware..

FrameBuffer worked for me all the time, on every version.
I have NVidia.
Maybe i did some wrong with the kernel... _________________ All for one and one for All

Funny... I was unable to get FB working with my Geforce4 as well... Although I'll admit I didn't try very hard ;-p. I wanted to read up on the bug that relates to Nvidia's drivers and the Nvidia FB driver before trying agian.
Anyways, I got the blank raster too..

Right now...last try
But strange...i do emerge nvidia-kernel and at the end i get:
modprobe nvidia...can not load nvidia module...
Just to be sure:
I left the old vanilla tree there and I just moved the "linux" link to the new gentoo-sources tree...how it knows what tree to use on boot for modules? _________________ All for one and one for All
