Hi,

Just moved a Sound Blaster Live Value from an Athlon 700 to a dual P3 850 with 2GB RAM. It is not showing up in /proc/pci nor lspci.

I am using nearly the exact same kernel config as I was on the Athlon -- I just copied the .config over and changed nothing but the CPU and HighMem support (and IDE chipset, I think).

This computer used to be a server so I had the BIOS set for that. But I just went through it and didn't see anything that would obviously be blocking the sound card.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you try to move the card to a different pci slot? That has solved hardware issues (for me) sometimes.

Have you set the correct options for SMP computers?

Not yet. Thought about it. Will try it.

Which options are you referring to here? On the sound card itself? (I'm not aware of any.) In the kernel? Yes.

Thanks.

In the kernel. I think you should set

Processor Type And Features -> Symmetric multi-processing support

at least :)

ah, yes I meant I *did* do that in the kernel. SMP works just fine. Was just wondering if you knew of any SB card settings related to SMP.
