|
|
I just updated dbus, which broke a lot of my programs, so I ran revdep-rebuild. This fixed about a dozen broken packages, including the gcc-4.1.1-r3 package. After running and successfully completing revdep-rebuild, I re-ran it to make sure that everything was up-to-date. revdep-rebuild told me that it needed to install gcc-4.1.1-r3 again, so I let it. I then ran revdep-rebuild again to make sure everything was ok, and it told me that it needed to install gcc-4.1.1-r3 yet again.
Does anyone know why revdep-rebuild keeps wanting to install gcc-4.1.1-r3? Is there a common workaround for this?
Thanks in advance!

Tom Purl | Sometimes revdep-rebuild doesn't clean up it's temp files properly and therefore thinks you haven't done what you just did. To fix, either delete all the temp files (usually "rm /root/.revdep-rebuild.*" ) or, better yet, tell revdep-rebuild to ignore its temp files and start again: Code: | # revdep-rebuild -ip |
If it still insists on re-emerging gcc then there's something else going on.

What file is revdep-rebuild moaning about? It's probably an orphan which can be deleted. |
