|
I have gnome 2.2.1 working fine, I followed to the desktop setup how to.
when I start gnome i get the error couldn't open /dev/sound/mixer
if I manually modprobe ac97_codec ,i810_audio & soundcore
before starting gnome, sound works fine.
any tips on how to get this working automatically? |

Traying adding lines containg ac97_codec ,i810_audio & soundcore (one per line) to /etc/modules.autoload. These modules should then be inserted on boot and you should be ready to go when you want to start gnome. |

that did it,
I only needed to add i810_audio as there is a config file that lists the dependencies of i810_audio
Thanks |

Had same problem and saw the answer here.
I added following to modules.autoload:
sound
ac97_codec
emu10k1
..worked right away _________________ DK-2990 Nivaa |
