Hi, ALL,
I just upgraded my kernel from 2.6.18-r3 gentoo-sources to 2.6.18-r6 gentoo-sources. The upgrade went through fine, and I rebooted without the "Kernel Panic'.
However, I received a bunch of messages like this:

Code:

udevd-event[...]: run_program: exec of program '/sbin/udev_run_hotplugd' failed

After running etc-update and updating the udev configuration file they are gone.
However, at the beginning of the boot process, I receive this:

Code:

udevd[1087]: main: the kernel does not support inotify, udevd can't monitor configuration file changes     [ok]

I also did upgrade the kernel from 2.6.18-r3 to 2.6.18-r6 gentoo-sources.

Am I missing some kernel configuration switch?

Thank you.

It sounds like it:
Code:
$ grep INOTIFY /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_INOTIFY=y
CONFIG_INOTIFY_USER=y
