Perl data transfer

Hello!

I am trying to transfer a data from an old dotproject system (www.dotproject.net) to a new XOOPS (www.xoops.org) system that I am trying to develop.

I will attempt to do it in Perl, I have no expereince.
This is a very tricky request but can anybody lend some help?

Any written scripts I could use?
Any tutorials specific for this purpose?
Are there any resources which you can suggest?
