Hi, i was woundering if there was an open source clone from Heroes of might and magic...
Is there anything like this?
if not... at least something similar...?

Can't you just add "games-strategy/heroes3 x86" to your /etc/portage/package.keywords file?

Why not for amd64? It works for me fine, tray to emulate x86 libs...

Couple of times it was played, nevertheless. More chance to have the game running is via heroes3_demo.x86. But in the most cases 3D0 animation stops && ctrl+c in X tty.
So, I wish an ebuild, and complete HOWTO, mb a fuller version.. Or just playable ANY version of Heroes 3

I've had heroes3 running on my system for a few weeks now.

@xsi
Do you mean you can't get the full version working and that's why you are trying the demo? The ebuild doesn't come with the game files only the binary so you have to supply them yourself.
If you have a HOMM 3 cd just pop it in and mount it then emerge heroes3.

If you don't have the disk you can torrent the .iso and then just mount it with
mount -o loop file.iso /mnt/cdrom
The heroes3 ebuild looks in /mnt/cdrom. If you have it somewhere else then just run the ebuild anyway amd it will tell you an environment variable you can export to alter it. Just change it and rerun the emerge and it will get the files out of the .iso or cd.
