|
|
using the latest sparc ISO I get up to the chroot part and everything looks good. I then try to get silo going and I get a error saying it cant write to /dev/hdc1 which is my boot partition I setup prior to the chroot.
I then try fdisk and it can't find it either, so I look in /dev/ and lo and behold, no hdc. I exit the chroot and the /dev there has a hdc in dev.
What's up how come I can't access the drives from the chroot?
Thanks,

Case anyone is intereted I had to do a
mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev
before I entered the chroot, otherwise anything that needed access to the disc would fail.
this was not in the docs by the way. |
