Hi. There is for Gnome a Gui to cron daemon that can interest a quite wide number of people.
It is called gnome-schedule. http://gnome-schedule.sourceforge.net/
Now, the question, why someone doesn't develop an ebuild for this pretty tool? And why it is absent in portage? :'(
If someone is able to make an ebuild, please do it. Unluckly for me i am not. _________________ http://sconosciuto.wordpress.com - > my blog (in italiano)

You can use "crontab -e".
Seems gnome-schedule is a simple frontend to it.
Or search for it in any portage-Overlay
And if you can't find it, you can learn how to write ebuilds and contribute it to some overlay (i.E. Project Sunrise) _________________ Der süsse Pinguin ist mir lieber als die kleinen weichen, die einem nur kaputte Fenster verkaufen |

I know I have to pop up 'man 5 crontab' every time... _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here

Stick this at the top of your crontab:
Code: | # +--------------------------------- min (0-59)
# | +------------------------- hour (1-31)
# | | +----------------- day of month (1-31)
# | | | +--------- month (1-12)
# | | | | +- day of week (0-6, sun=0)
# | | | | |
# * * * * * <command> |

Either one of you created it or it's been in the sunrise overlay. |

It's in sunrise for 7 months now (07/05/06 11:14:00) so I'm shure it wasn't anybody reading this thread
so marijuana is not forced to learn how to make ebuilds and can go on smoking his name _________________ Der süsse Pinguin ist mir lieber als die kleinen weichen, die einem nur kaputte Fenster verkaufen |

i'm quite able to use cron.. for the few things i need. but a package in portage as dependece of gnome-desktop would make easy to new linux/gentoo user approach to more advanced features. _________________ http://sconosciuto.wordpress.com - > my blog (in italiano)

Didn't you know? An ordinary computer scientist has to work 24 hours a day. So his day has to be longer because he has to sleep sometimes, like any other one. _________________ Der süsse Pinguin ist mir lieber als die kleinen weichen, die einem nur kaputte Fenster verkaufen |
