alright this is prob a dumb question but I am asking before I brake any thing.
I finally just learned about distcc. Well lets say machine X i am using the below cflags
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
now I have box Y with the below cflags/chost
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -pipe"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
Can box y help box x compile? I just want to make sure this will work because they are both i686 but I want to make sure. |

As long as the toolchain versions are the same, they should produce the same code for different archs. |
