Io ho avuto un problema simile: sbagliavo a scrivere le CFLAGS e CXXFLAGS nel file /etc/make.conf. Quindi ti consiglio di verificare se le flag che hai scritto sono corrette (cioè scritte bene). Per un riferimento vai su http://www.freehackers.org/gentoo/gccflags/flag_gcc3opt.html.

la pagina non esiste e comunque la mia conf e' molto semplice:
CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O3 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
e' la prima voltache mi da questo errore e lo fa solo con il file avifiles |

forse freehackers è down. Cmq adesso che ci penso alcune compilazioni anche a me davano problemi simili: io però avevo compilato il gcc-3.3 per prova e poi ero ripassato a gcc-3.2.3 e evidentemente qualche variabile di sistema è rimasta con la vecchia configurazione. Ho provato anche gcc-config ma alcuni programmi (specie per kde) danno lo stesso problema. Cmq tra un pò faccio un bel emerge -e world!

| per compilare senza problemi ed evitare compilazioni impossibili (gcc etc) basta editare l'ebuild e commentare i flags CC e CXX nella linea unset. magicamente tutto funziona... |
