Krita Export PNG [SOLVED]

for some reason, krita no longer exports to png.
It used to work just fine, but then just kind of stopped working (probably when "upgrading" to a new version...)

when I try to export (or save as) png it just locks, sucks up memory until all ram & swap is taken up, then crashes.
while its in the sucking up memory, and before it crashes, straces shows this (this is just a small sniplet of the output)

I've been having the same problem. Kview can save in png just fine though. This is a problem that kinda annoys me, because when I restart my stepmania stepfile making I wanted to use krita instead of the gimp to make the banners...

The theme images need to be in png style if I remember correctly, and I wanted to try to make a theme too.

We should probably file a bug report with krita's upstream bug tracker. But still, does anybody have the same problem, or a solution?

I'm Having the same issues with my krita but no matter what version i try the stable or testing.

Just thought i would post in hope that one day someone will come up with a solution. lol

Until then I'll be Gimping it lol

Has anybody filed a bug report upstream? I really want to try to use Krita more... to see if it can really replace the GIMP. But for now it doesn't seem like it... I think I may have actually gotten used to the GIMP's interface...

Hello,

I just got done reinstalling gentoo the other day ago. Figured i would hold off on installing krita as it seems to never work for me anymore.

So I first upgraded my libpng to

then emerge krita after adding it to my keywords to get the newest version. krita-1.6.1

And i get the same thing happening i turn it on and open up an old jpg or even an already png image and it just starts consuming all my ram then eventually freezes.
