|
|
hey all,
i was wondering if anyone using the ac-sources has gotten sound to compile on their computer?
i am using the ac-sources (2.4.21_rc6-r1) and whenever i goto compile sound into the kernel it halts at ac97_codec...
Code: |
ac97_codec.c: In function `ac97_alloc_codec':
ac97_codec.c:736: structure has no member named `lock'
|
i get this every time. i compiled successfully without sound, but i kinda want it... i also did "emerge ac-sources" and got the (2.4.21_rc6-r2) ... same error though. is this driver specific, or is the ac97_codec universal no matter what i check in the sound options? basically i have the crystal drivers selected and i think i did creative live, along with OSS (all compiled into the kernel) ... but if it is failing on that file (ac97_codec.c), i dont know if compiling as a module makes a difference... any help would be great. _________________

map { $i++ while chop; push (@dune,$i); undef $i; } split /[eE]/;
map { print chr ${\(shift(@dune) + $_)}; } split /[DUNE]/,$japh;

workaround if you don't mind using a module..
if u emerge alsa-drivers, you can use the driver that comes with that.. it works fine, you just have to configure the /etc/modules.conf.. which can be fun!
good luck
(btw.. i'm using gentoo-sources n that driver compiles fine.. so it mite be broken by sum patch or sumthing.... ) |

You could try upgrading to vanilla-sources 2.4.21. Myabe that will fix the problem. |
