via82xx and distortion

For some reason I can't fix the distortion problems. Well I have except for XMMS, it seems no matter what I do there is noticeable distortion, but when I play a game like RTCW: Enemy Territory its fine, plays just like Windows.

Which output plugin are you using for xmms?

I use the alsa driver (alsa-lib) with the oss adapter (alsa-oss) and the oss output plugin for XMMS and have no problems with sound.
