Hi,
I've already installed a gentoo system on my laptop, and i want to install it also on my Sun Ultra 5
I followed the instruction written in the Gentoo Handbook for sparc
but the system doesn't boot
If i try with the 2.6 Kernel i get
"Booting Linux" from silo and then the machine halts
If i try with the 2.4 Kernel i get
"Uninmplemented Primitive SPARC 211" in the kernel loader splash screen and then the system freeze
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I've got Gentoo running on an Ultra 5 and a Sun Blade 100.
How far past SILO does it get when it fires up? Do you have SCSI or IDE drive(s)?
I had to include a chipset bug fix for the IDE controller to get my Ultra 5 to boot-up without a kernel panic. |

I solved my problem
There was an error with the stage (i use the latest stages that doesn't supports the 2.4 kernel)
I used a 2.6.17-r8 kernel and now i have gentoo running |
