I've been using Opera for a while now. But lately its been getting on my nerves because I find that its slow and laggy on a lot of websites (the scrolling in gmail is choppy). So I got firefox-bin because I'm in 64-bit gentoo. anyways, since getting firefox, I havent been able to log into the forums. I enter my name, password and check off log me in automatically (i've also tried unchecking it) but when I click log in, it brings me back to the forum index like it worked but I'm still not logged in. Any suggestions? Cookies is turned on.

very odd error. I have a 64 bit gentoo with firefox installed and have no problem accessing the forums. Cookies I don't think matter. Have you done anything special with your network config. PHP and session variables are prob the way the forums work. When you log on the session variable is created on the server with your user name and password.
The reason I ask is because I have ran into this issue below.
I have seen where I was designing a web site and using http://localhost/bla.php to run the web server page. Then I do something called a redirect where I can redirect to another web page on my server. I would then redirect to http://10.1.10.86/bla2.php. When this happens the server thinks you are a new person on the server and creates a whole new session variable for 10.1.10.86 and throws the error that the username and password is invalid.
Let me know if this is confusing at all or doesn't make sense. Give us some more info about your config and I will try to help you out. |
