Bonsoir,
J'explique rapidement mon problème. J'ai un AMD64 3200+ avec 1Go de DDR sur une Gentoo toute fraiche.Je trouve celle-ci relativement lente.
Par exemple si je lance gnome-terminal ça me prends 5 secondes voir plus...mais si je le quitte et que je le relance pareil, on dirais que ma ram ne cache pas.
Sinon dans le même style, mes partages Samba sont extrèmement lent.
J'ai suite à diverses solution à travers le chan #tribugentoo, recompilé mon noyau avec modifiant le Timer Frequency à 1000Mhz.Pas d'amélioration notable.
Auriez-vous une idée à me suggerer ?

je viens d avoir le meme souçi, avais tu des saccades de son?? meme si tu bougeais la souris???
personellement pour mon cas j'avais fais une bourde j'avais pas activé les periph large block et le DMA dans le kernel, donc comme l'erreur est humaine jetes un oeil par la deja sinon balances un dmesg et un lspci stp ^^

J'ai aucune saccade de son, mais par exemple si je lance Xchat-2 ça va se lancé à une vitesse express...alors que comme je l'expliquais plus haut un pauvre gnome-terminal vas prendre plus de 5 secondes.

Côté dmesg rien à dire...aucune érreur.
Côté disque dur rien à dire non plus.

Par contre je me disais : j'utilise XP / Gentoo en dual boot, j'ai donc une partition NTFS en première partition et ensuite mon reiserfs pour ma racine.
le fait que ma racine soit pas la première partition influencerais t'il les performances ?

Le Xchat-2 c'est l'exception on vas dire.Mes compilations ont l'air rapide, c'est juste l'execution ...

Peut être un petit problème dans /etc/hosts. Verifies bien d'avoir la ligne de ce style :

Effectivement ça va mieux niveau Samba.L'erreur con n'empeche !
Pour ce qui est du ralentissement général de Gentoo...je fais chou blanc.

A n'y rien comprendre...
Je viens tout juste d'avoir un hard reboot (merci EDF) et apparement ça va mieux ... mes applications se lancent à la perfection, juste nautilus qui à l'air d'être très lent.
