|

I upgraded to GCC 3.4 from 3.3 using Gentoo GCC Migration Guide but after doing the Code: | revdep-rebuild --library libstdc++.so.5 | I can't start mozilla firefox anymore. It was working on GCC 3.3.x (and version 1.5.0.7).
The error I get is Code: | user[13:20]>firefox
No running windows found |
The process eats 100% CPU and just sits there, so I have to kill it manually.
I have already tried running firefox with -safe-mode. (no change)
I have tried moving my ~/.mozilla direcotry (it gets recreated).
I have tried re-emerging mozilla-firefox.
I have tried searching on google and the forums but the "No Running Windows" message is somewhat ambiguous so I haven't been able to find anything useful.
I also tried using strace but the output is rather large.
Code: | root[13:10]#equery check mozilla-firefox
[ Checking www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.8 ]
* 3366 out of 3366 files good
root[13:22]#equery check mozilla-launcher
[ Checking www-client/mozilla-launcher-1.52 ]
* 3 out of 3 files good |
Any ideas? Thanks!

I tried using firefox 1.5.0.7 (which worked before) but it suffers from the same problem. This leads me to believe it has something to do with GCC 3.3.x -> 3.4.x.
I thought the problem might be that I needed to rebuild a package that firefox depended on. So I did and (which each took a while) but no luck. I tried with rebooting the system too.
thunderbird is suffering from the exact same problem: "No running windows found". This is something with X maybe? Anything I can do to troubleshoot this problem? |

This is a known problem (see bug 150452). As the bug says mozilla-firefox-2.0 works but is still keyworded ~alpha. |
