Hi,
I have a close look at my make.conf right know. And I´m wondering about the sandbox feature. What is it? I can`t find much about it. But it seems to be important.. |

if you configure FEATURE -sandbox then your emerge process will not take place inside a sandbox. The idea of a sandbox is to isolate the whole make configure, make, and make install to prevent badly written ebuilds or makefiles from messing up your system. Things take place in there, and then get copied once the make process succeeds. Check the Gentoo's development guide for more info.
You should never disable the sandbox, unless you have a very good reason for doing so. So leave it as it is. |
