When I try to emerge it, it tells me this is not allowed on a sparc....
Any reason for this? Or shall I just override the ~sparc and emerge anyway ?

You can read on the partimage homepage that Intel i386+ and PowerPC are supported |

This is the error I get :-
Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "partimage" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- sys-block/partimage-0.6.4-r4 (masked by: ~sparc keyword)
- sys-block/partimage-0.6.4-r3 (masked by: ~sparc keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
OK. So fair enough its not supported but it has worked on sparc in the past....
How do I enable it to install? |

Ah ok
Well if it's only masked by the ~sparc keyword, all you have to do is put it in package.keywords.
You might want to read some documentation about portage, this is very basic stuff... |
