Available versions: 1.5.0.7 1.5.0.8 ~2.0
Installed: 1.5.0.8
Homepage: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox
Description: Firefox Web Browser
I am very new on Gentoo
and i wanna know how to choose certain version, the default version is 1.5.0.8 but i dont want to install that
i wanna instal 2.0 how should i do that?
i searched from google but answers r not clearly.

If you you want 2.0 want the unstable version. Do the following (as root):
nano -w /etc/portage/package.keywords
Put this line in the file: www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin ~x86
Save (ctrl+o) and close with ctrl+x
If you you have another architecture then x86 (e.g. amd64) please change accordingly. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered |

A quicker way is to do:
echo "www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
