Cairo keeps wanting to downgrade like so:

Code:
ux var # emerge -pvtuD world

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating world dependencies... done!
[nomerge      ] media-gfx/xsane-0.991  USE="gimp jpeg nls png tiff"
[nomerge      ]  media-gfx/gimp-2.3.12  USE="alsa doc gnome gtkhtml jpeg mng png python svg tiff -aalib (-altivec) -debug -lcms -mmx -pdf -smp -sse -wmf"
[nomerge      ]   dev-python/pygtk-2.8.6  USE="opengl -doc"
[nomerge      ]    dev-python/pycairo-1.0.2  USE="gtk svg -numeric"
[ebuild     UD]     x11-libs/cairo-1.0.4-r1 [1.2.4] USE="X png -doc -glitz (-directfb%) (-pdf%*) (-svg%*)" 0 kB

Font-alias pulls in the cairo-1.2.4.

Should I just add cairo-1.0.4-r1 to my package.provided or how do I deal with this?

cheers, JD

thanks Karl,

I searched - but just didn't look back far enough or something - it escaped me.

cheers, Jim
