|
|
Is there any way to do this?
What I want is to be able to boot from a CD into an OS which contains a few 'extra' shell scripts.
Basically, I want to be able to boot a sparc machine from the gentoo live cd, mount a usb dvd writer, then use partimage to backup the sparc machine. |

We use a tool called catalyst to build stages and media which is freely available.
Go check the docs at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/releng/catalyst/ so you can get an idea.
The configuration files are available too so it's just a matter of adding/removing/modifying to get your own thing.
Of course you'll need a Linux/SPARC machine to build the stuff. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias

Gustavo,
Thanks. I'll take a look at this.
Note, despite being a unix person I'm fairly new to linux and never used gentoo before !!! |
