Howzit,
I was busy doing an update, when this error came up:
!!! ERROR: x11-libs/gtk+-2.10.6 failed
So i thougt by removing gtk and re emerging gtk it would solve the problem,
but all it did was break my system and i need to boot with a live cd again.
can someone please tell me how to solve?
Thanx |

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Portage & Programming.
Please post at least 30 lines before that error message, otherwise it is impossible to determine the cause. Also post your `emerge --info`. _________________ www.gentoo.org.au || #gentoo-au |

Don't forget to add [Solved] to your subject
And notice that sometimes, the error messages are clear like water but they usually are a lot of lines before |

don't get me wrong, but why on earth is the pdf use flag not included in the default-linux/desktop profile ?
i'd prefer the ability to turn off unwanted features over failed emerges because of a minimalistic default set of use flags in the profile.
a desktop system w/o pdf support sucks even more than interrupted emerges |

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads, refer to topic "Please re-emerge [solved]".
As noted in the handbook USE flags specified via environment variables are not retained as persistent settings so, aside from when a given USE flag setting is itself transient in nature, use one of the persistent USE flag setting methods (/etc/make.conf, /etc/portage/package.use). Also, note that USE flags are case sensitive. |
