Things like this used to work, but now I just get a permission denied message and/or /usr/bin/perl: bad interpreter: Permission denied. I get the former when trying to run the ./usr_cpad (see http://www.janerob.com/rob/ts5100/cPad/index.shtml) and the latter when trying to run ./vmware_installer.pl. I get the same message when running them as a user or as root. Also, I get these same messages for games that used to work just fine.
Any suggestions?

What are the permissions on /usr/bin/perl?
Eg.

I'd really like to run these programs. Any suggestions on why my perl isn't working?
