|
|
I'm curious if this is normal...
When I type 'emerge -pu world' here is what I get:
Code: | Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] sys-libs/db-3.2.9 to /
[ebuild U ] net-misc/openssh-3.4_p1-r2 to /
|
Is it supposed to display the version it will be upgraded to _________________ "If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe" -Carl Sagan |

I can see only one question there
It is normal for emerge -pu world to show you the list of packages and their new version numbers that will be merged in. It is doing that in the output you list. Were you after something else?

Oops!
I didn't notice that 'sys-libs/db-3.2.9' was the latest version. I thought the correct output would be something like this:
[ebuild U ] sys-libs/db-3.2.3h-r4 to db-3.2.9
Where it would actually list the current version.
The 'to /' messed me up. I suppose that means where the package is being installed 'to', NOT what it is being upgraded 'to'
Thanks for the help Naan. _________________ "If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe" -Carl Sagan |
