I have the following problem, and I can't find a decent solution through search:
autofs works fine, for one small problem:
when I press the eject button on my cd-rom player nothing happens (after I visited the mounted directory)
i.e.: (1)
<insert cdrom>
*autofs mounts*
<eject cdrom>
*autofs spits it out*
i.e.: (2(
<insert cdrom>
*autofs mounts*
<visit /misc/cd/ and scroll around>
*go to /*
<eject cdrom>
*.......nothing happens.......*
The answer must be simple, but nothing works here ._.; _________________ Many people call me Linux-freak, I just see me as a freak who uses Linux

I'm not completely familiar with autofs (yet - planning on trying it soon), but as I understand it only checks the state of the device at regular intervals. So if you access the CD then there will be an interval before autofs unmounts it again. How long that is depends on how you have configured autofs (I think the default is several minutes). Also autofs will only unmount the file system if there are no processes cd'ed into the file system, and no files from it open. |
