I just got some weird problem with nvidia-drivers/X.org
In normal use (browsing with Firefox) my computer suddenly hanged completely. Only mouse cursor was moving randomly, and all I could do was hard boot.
This happened again next day, and after that my X.org 7.0-r1 / nvidia-drivers died completely. When I run startx, whole shit hard locks and screen becomes black.
I tried upgrating my kernel, nvidia-drivers and X.org to 7.1, but any of these didn't have any kind of effect.
I didn't do any kind of updating/conf changing before this happened, and all my configs are perfect, working stable about half a year.
WTF might cause this? It seems to be hardware fault?
X works with nv, but it's not really usable.
I have GF4 Ti4200 with Zalman passive cooler, it runs pretty hot (not too hot to touch at idle) thanks to my 15krpm SCSI drive between graphics card and fan. _________________ AsRock P67 Pro3, i5-2500K, 8GB DDR3, GTS450 |

No I'm not.
As I said, it worked flawlessly for half a year, then suddenly hanged and stopped working without reason. _________________ AsRock P67 Pro3, i5-2500K, 8GB DDR3, GTS450 |

I got my problem solved too!
I added Option "NvAGP" "1" into my xorg.conf
Weird, I remember that it was enabled before, but maybe my config was corrupted in lock-up or something.
The reason for hangins is still unknown, maybe I'll find it later. And GLX isn't working, but that's different thing. _________________ AsRock P67 Pro3, i5-2500K, 8GB DDR3, GTS450 |
