|
|
Has anyone considered to port Portage into win32? Portage is written on Python, so the most of job will be in "detaching" it from Linux surroundings.
System administratos of networks, where some content and software must be distributed and kept up-to-date offline (!) in an environment mixing gentoo and windows boxen should benefit from it.
So, anyone tried it? Anyone wanna join to try? |

I heard about plans to port Portage to OSX. I wonder if Cygwin was already considered by Portage developers/enthusiasts. |

why? the main upside to portage is that it takes care of dependancies... windows doesn't have that problem... you might as well go to google or download.com |

I don't care about windows per se. But I do care about the stuff I want to package for cygwin. And as for today cygwin packiging is very bad.
Thanks for the link. I'm gonna try it. |
