You might come across a nasty blocker between kde-libs and kde-env-3-r4 which won't go away. This is because the functionality of kde-env (1 script FWIW) has been subsumed into kde-libs, but there are still pkgs that depend on kde-env (or think they do.)

kde-env provides one /etc/env.d/99kde script, which is superceded by a 45kde-paths-3.5 script from kde-libs. I actually went thru this a few weeks ago, but I have recently come across someone having the same issue on IRC. I was told on IRC that this was something to do with some dvd package requiring kde-env, but there's a few pkgs that do (perhaps because they haven't all been updated yet.)

Anyway, the workaround is to uninstall kde-env and
Code:
echo "kde-base/kde-env-3-r4" >> /etc/portage/package.provided
so that pkgs don't complain, until such time as they're all updated not to depend on kde-env.

HTH,
Steve.

PS I filed a bug for this, but it's not really a bug as such. I filed it there so people who search bugzilla first- you do that don't you? ;) - would know how to sort it.

Blimey, sorry I did search, but you get so many threads with no indication of content.

Mods: can we put this in dups? Thanks.
