It seems as though the effect wasn't permanent as when I rebooted, I got the same message about the DMA setting from dmesg. Can I make it permanent? |

Have a look at /etc/conf.d/hdparm Thats what you are looking for. Just enter the right options and add hdparm to your default runlevel with "rc-update add hdparm default" and it is started every boot. |
