Hi,
When I first started kaffeine it said everything was in order (ticks for libdvdcss, win32codecs, .etc), but when the app itself starts I get:
[ X Loading of player part 'KaffeinePart' failed. ]
[ >>> All Video Drivers failed to initialize! ]

I get the same sort of thing with mplayer (sound is fine)

unfortunately i've got exact the same problem... tried several udev-versions, checked group video with no success.
any solutions by now?

| ...ok, found the solution. don't forget to add X and xv to the useflags of mplayer and xine-lib. |

Also check where your /etc/make.profile/ points to. I took this up with the devs on the bug list and they pointed out it should have been pointed to desktop/ |
