SVGALib Permission Error

I am a big fan of ZSNES and have recently tried running it under Gentoo. The problem is that it complains of SVGALib being unable to gain necessary i/o permissions. If someone has any idea of how the svgalib works and what devices it needs i/o priveliges on, I would be very appreciative to learn of your knowledge.

change the owner to root, then set it suid root.

chown root zsnes
chmod u+s zsnes

should work then.
