|

Hi All,
I'm not sure how to approch this. I have not done an emerge -Duv world in a very long time but I have kept up to date with emerge --sync.
Well when I decided to run emerge -Duv world I got pages upon pages of blocked packages. Mostly xorg is blocking.
Here is a partial output but I do have pages upon pages of blocked packages.
[blocks B ] <=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.9 (is blocking x11-proto/kbproto-1.0.3)
[blocks B ] <=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.9 (is blocking x11-misc/util-macros-1.1.0)
[blocks B ] <=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.9 (is blocking x11-libs/libX11-1.0.3)
What do I do in this case. Am I to remove each blocked package one at a time?
Next time I'll keep my world up to date weekly.

xorg 7 is stable... perhaps you should update to that first? It is a rather large process but I'm pretty sure that would take care of the problem.

Hi gustafson,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I tried emerge xorg-x11 and I still get those blocked packages. Am I performing am emerge wrong?
