I can't get su to work. [SOLVED]

Alright, I can't seem to su. I can login as root just fine, but when I try to su with my root password it doesn't seem to work. I can "sudo su" just fine.

The problem is that in Gnome when I try to do certain things that require root privledges, it tells me invalid password.

Anyone know why su isn't recognizing my root password?
