|
|
after I have updated my system to Gentoo 2006.1, grub was updated to 0.97 version,
and I don't change the old grub.conf, but while I trying to switch my system to Windows,
the Grub failed to boot Windows and return the Grub main menu.

Well u can trye to make it like this (not that i think it does much diference)
Code: | title=Window XP professional
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
makeative
chainloader (hd0,0)+1 |
and if that dont work trye to restore your mbr to windows and se if it boots then. u can always install grub mbr later fairly simple. |

Leave it out altogether - although I'd be surprised if his caused a problem with a version change in grub. _________________ Got a good backup ??? - any advice offered presumes you have. |

It almost sounds like you (re-)installed grub manually, and installed to the XP partition by mistake rather than to the MBR. _________________ Got a good backup ??? - any advice offered presumes you have. |

Thanks every one!
I have fixed this problem by Windows booting CD, and run command "fixmbr" and "fixboot",
and then switch Linux by Gentoo livedCD, reinstall grub.
but now I still don't know what cause this issue. |
