Hello all,
I am still looking into buying a new notebook but was wondering if the Realtek RTL8168 is supported yet on the new Gentoo 2006.1 Install CD.
BTW I am also wondering if the Gentoo 2006.1 LiveCD works properly with the JMicron JMB36x Controller yet.
Does anybody have the answer to these two questions yet? |

I have a notebook with the same card (RTL8168) and found out that it is not supported through the 2006.1 cds.

Hello,
I'm going nuts I have this nice new system, but it requires two drivers that the gentoo 2006.1 livecd do not have, and I don't have any updated CD of my own to run this either.
What is the solution for this, if any? is there possibly any other distribution with 2.6.18 kernel and support? (I can't seem to find any)
NOTE: the two drivers I need are rtl8168 (lan) and jmb360 (raid)

I found several threads about this issue including one about a new live-cd by kernelOfTruth that is supposed support this nic.
