Ok, brand new install... thought I was done with these portage errors from xorg-x11... at any rate, here I am... I think this might could belong under Desktop Environments as well...
Code: | checking for an ANSI C-conforming const... yes
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
!!! Please attach the following file when filing a report to bugs.gentoo.org:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/shared-mime-info-0.17-r2/work/shared-mime-info-0.17/config.log
!!! ERROR: x11-misc/shared-mime-info-0.17-r2 failed.
Call stack:
ebuild.sh, line 1539: Called dyn_compile
ebuild.sh, line 939: Called src_compile
shared-mime-info-0.17-r2.ebuild, line 38: Called econf '--disable-update-mimedb'
ebuild.sh, line 541: Called die
!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

How do I fix this? What does it mean? Never seen it before...
Edit: Updated with a better error detail... I am on the liveCD now, chrooted to my install.
Edit2: trying this... surely it's not that simple! hopefully it is though...
Edit3: Solved my own problem... did the trick _________________ me |
