I am no gamer, so I use an old Nvidia TNT-2 board. The driver is the "stable' 4349 - which unfortunately cannot handle some big(?) pictures (incl some web pages)
On my other distro (Slackware 9) I have used the nifty service Nvidia provides and upgraded to 4363 - end of problems.
Gentoo, however, still does not provide any unmasked ebuilds for 4363 (and there seems to be problems with the ~4363 script).
I wonder: will using the non-gentoo nvidia upgrade facility break anything (except version number/history) in Gentoo? |
