Hullo,
I just try with wine and winex(and even a cvs checkout of the winex cvs), it refuse to allow pegasus mail(a fairly old version) to connect to the mail server... which is quite annoyiong since pegasus is the only mailler I can bear(and I hage all my mails in it ..)
I get this error:
"
Pegasus Mail has encountered an unidentified error on your TCP/IP network.
The error code returned to Pegasus Mail was 0H.
Further information on this problem is unavailable - please check that your TCP/IP software is correctly installed and configured and that there are no problems with your TCP/IP network at present.
"
Note that I tried using wine on mirc and it works so it is not uninstalled network stuff .. please help, Im desperate Gettingmy mailler to work is the last step to make me permanently switch to gentoo, and I want it to work ..
Thanks
PS: it was workingfine with my mandrake 8.1 |

I got it running successfully, w/wine 20030508 and Pegasus Mail 4.02
Code: | wine -- ~/.wine/d/pmail/winpm-32.exe -Z 128 |
I can't take the credit though. Did a bit of searching, which came up with this page: http://kbase.pmail.gen.nz/viewfull.cfm?ObjectID=E1D7B847-576A-4BA3-BEE13F10C9FF1D02
In this case, /d/ is my D drive. Works like a charm! Even the system icon tray loads up. Now if only I can fix those butt-ugly fonts.
Edit: Welp, I fixed that problem too.. for the most part.
My ~/.wine/config
Code: |
[FontDirs]
"dir1" = "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype"
"dir2" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi
"dir3" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi
"dir4" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo
"dir5" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF
"dir6" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1
"dir7" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/freefont
"dir8" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/lfp-fix
"dir9" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/lfp-var
"dir10" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local
"dir11" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
"dir12" = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/sharefont

Another thing I noticed was that my toolbar went away the first time I ran it. But, you can just turn it back on in the Toolbar options. _________________ If it ain't broke, tweak it. dvds | blurays | blog | wiki |

I posted that last code incorrectly, the fonts aliases should have quotes around them if you want to load them.
However, Pegasus loads much faster w/only one font alias directory. _________________ If it ain't broke, tweak it. dvds | blurays | blog | wiki |
