I am trying out Gentoo for the first time, and decided to use gnome. It installed gnome 2. However, whenever I try to open the terminal it opens, then where the terminal should be it says:

After that it exits. I just typed emerge gnome after the base installation. |

Thank You. I did search the forum, but couldn't find the article... Thanks for pointing it out to me.
It seems that Gnome 2 doesn't pull any of the settings from the global preferences. My gnome bash login shell is bash-2.05a. Thats OK, I can fix it with my personal login shell. (and update it in /etc/skel) |
