Cgwd will not compile, tried searching...

After going through about 10 pages of that 36 page thread I came to the conclusion that if my error is in fact in there, then whatever supreme being is up there hates me, so be kind.

After

Code: Select all

emerge cgwd

Code: Select all

main.o: In function `draw_window_decoration_real':
main.c:(.text+0x45bb): undefined reference to `gdk_cairo_set_source_pixmap'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [cgwd] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/cgwd-0.49/work/cgwd/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/cgwd-0.49/work/cgwd'
make: *** [all] Error 2

!!! ERROR: x11-wm/cgwd-0.49 failed.
Call stack:
 ebuild.sh, line 1539: Called dyn_compile
 ebuild.sh, line 939: Called src_compile
 cgwd-0.49.ebuild, line 31: Called gnome2_src_compile '--disable-mime-update' gnome2.eclass, line 64: Called die

!!! compile failure
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

!!! This ebuild is from an overlay: '/usr/portage/local/layman'
This is the last section after attempting to emerge cgwd. Any help would be great.
I'm having the same problem. Try rolling back to a different version... I have 0.45 working.

CVS is working fine for me. You could try updating/remerging gtk+, I suspect that function is part of it.
What are you, stupid?

Re-emerging gtk++ does not fix.

I'm having the same problem. I had this problem about a month back and re-emerging gtk+ fixed it, but now this isn't working. I went ahead and upgraded to the latest cairo and then emerged pango and gtk+ against the newer version, but still no go. Not sure what it could be this time.

I have cgwd-0.45 working very well. Try this:

Code: Select all

emerge -av "=cgwd-0.45"

And I have .45 working as well, but I think the point of wanting to try .49 was due to the UI changes (even moreso than .45 brought about). I'm currently emerging every single gnome package I have to see if this fixes it. Only problem is I won't know which gnome package causes the issue since I'm doing all at once. I'll post back later today and report if it worked.

I think this "gdk_cairo_set_source_pixmap" from the first post is in gtk+-2.10 and higher which is hard masked in portage.

And if I'm not mistaken, quinn is depending on 2.10.x for recent versions, so updating to that version of gtk+ is necessary. And if you're going to do that, be sure to unmask and update cairo to 1.2.2 first.

If you're running Xgl/compiz, which is too unstable to even be in Portage, you can't really worry about hard-masked packages.

Yeah upgrading to gtk+ 2.10.1 worked. Went ahead and upgraded to cgwd-9999 and compiz-quinnstorm-9999. Messing with the blur plugin right now. Thanks for ur help.

Good cause 2.10 was making me crazy. I can see why they masked it...

EDIT: Seems latest CGWD has some bugs, not to mention the latest compiz-quinnstorm. I ended up staying with version .45 of CGWD and .20 of quinnstorm - but at least I got to try them. Blur has potential but needs a lot of work. Blurfx plugin seems to be better for me so sticking with that.
