pam-login blocking (or blocked by) shadow right after instal

Hey folks,

right after i finished the installationprocess on my new mashine
i`ve got the problem that i can`t update my system via the
targets world or system, because pam-login is blocking shadow
and vice versa.

Any hints or tipps? Can i unmerge on of them safely?

just unmerge pam && pam-login
and then update the system

but make sure that you don't log out.

well, i ran into the same, so i unmerged pam-login and re-emerged shadow and then updated. it worked for me the last time i did it, but i think it broke something some other time... still it seems the only option
