Quote: | How can you recover root password if you have forgotten it? | You can't but you can boot with the LiveCD and set the password field in /etc/shadow to <null>, e.g.
Code: | root:$1$r8RnxgJB$IHJGbZuwoVavc9eQj2cCp.:13137:0:99999:7::: | to
Code: | root::13137:0:99999:7::: | root then doesn't have a password and you can boot normally and set a new one. |
