hi,
gentoo crashed (because of something with alsa and sound) during emerging azureus. after a reboot nothing works anymore.

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-438555.html didn't help me. How can I repair the system?

So you can't even boot? Where does it stops booting? What's the error message?
Have you upgraded your gcc (or any other important package)?

Regards,

Sino

I don't think it has something to do with gcc, cause I never did something in this area.

oh it does actually boot (with some error messages). sry for the undetailed error description  I can log into the accounts, but I don't get any complicated programs to start (emerge, fluxbox etc.).

your problems is very vague...doesn't work..doesn't start.

post some error messages that you get

OPTIONALLY boot from CD and do fsck, but make sure you have a backup, as fsck can damage filesystem even further.

oh I thought the title would be precise enough for an more experienced user than me.

the error msg I get is as following

Code:
/usr/bin/my_print_defaults: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

if I start emerge or something else python asks for the missing shared library.

Ok, just read your initial post again, and saw that you told that the problem exists since your computer has crashed. So I recomment (as already proposed by "starik2") to check your filesystem. BTW what filesystem do you use?

If that doesn't help please post again.

Sino

I searched the forum for different terms but I guess...
